Name: Bruce Hammond
Age: 57
Occupation: Engineer
Where do you live? Conway, AR
How many years have you been running? I started running around 1996
What are you training for? What are your goals? I run 10ks, half marathons and full marathons. I would like to PR my half and avoid hitting the wall during the full marathon.
Why do you run? I run to reduce stress and eat. Being a avid wine drinker and bread baker I need to burn calories. I also like the fact that I am competing against myself.
What do you like best about working with Run Your Personal Best? I like the structure that Cory has provided and the feedback. I have used training plans before but I wasn’t getting where I wanted to be with them.
What advice would you give to other runners? Running like anything else has good days and bad days. Learn from both and enjoy being outside.
What’s your favorite (or type) workout? I am not sure I have a favorite but have found the interval work or hill work to be the most valuable to me right now
What’s your favorite race you‘ve ever run? Why? That’s a tough one – I really enjoyed the PEI Full – lovely scenery most of the way but I think my favorite is the Vancouver Half. It’s a great city, nice course and well managed.
What gets you through tough runs or days you don’t want to run? Knowing I have paid for a coach and not wanting to waste my money! LOL A more serious answer though, is that I know that even a short run on bad day can help turn it around.
Is there anything else you’d like to add? Thanks Cory for your support.
